Sprint lauches BodyMedia ID pack on Android devices (US)
Sprint is offering wearable body monitoring and weight management systems developer BodyMedia’s ID pack. BodyMedia ID pack is a customized bundle of widgets, applications, wallpapers, ringtones and other content for Android devices for Sprint customers to access their calorie input versus output, understand their calorie balance and create personalized workouts.
The BodyMedia ID enables Sprint customers to get access to BodyMedia FIT Armbands for health and fitness applications by clicking the BodyMedia ID icon on their device.
Customers can then use a bundle of applications developed by BodyMedia and other third-party applications, such as BigOven and Facebook. The BodyMedia ID pack includes custom applications and widgets, including the BodyMedia FIT Application, along with the BodyMedia FIT Armband, which gives real-time insight into your fitness activity and tracks workouts based upon calories burned, exercise level and number of steps taken.
The BodyMedia FIT Dashboard widget allows users to see activity manager data by getting information to calories burned, calories consumed, steps taken, physical activity and sleep. With the Bluetooth-enabled Armand BW, users can have real-time snapshot of their data. The BodyMedia FIT Activity widget depicts the current activity level as a member of the animal kingdom.
The BodyMedia ID pack also includes BodyMedia FIT Workout widget, which allows users to set workout goals based on calories burned, minutes of activity, number of steps or keep it open ended. It also monitors the status of the workout.
The BodyMedia FIT Sleep widget allows users to view sleep quantity and quality and the BodyMedia Sleep News widget, accumulates the sleep-related news from various sources on the internet. In addition, the BodyMedia ID pack also includes the BodyMedia FIT Nutrition widget, which allows users to see the calorie consumption stands in relation to the intake goal and the BodyMedia Nutrition News widget, accumulates the nutrition-related news from various sources.
Customers with Sprint ID-capable devices can download up to five ID packs onto their phone and switch back and forth between them or swap them out for new ones. The BodyMedia ID pack is available on four Android smartphones when activated on an Everything Data plan, including LG Optimus S, Sanyo Zio and Samsung Transform and Samsung Epic 4G. Beginning 8 May, Sprint ID will also be available on the Samsung Replenish Android smartphone. Sprint ID is also available on Samsung Galaxy Tab.
