PCCW launches eye multimedia platform
Hong Kong’s telecommunications operator PCCW has launched its eye multimedia platform. The device is a fixed line that delivers a range of content and interactive services to Hong Kong households over a menu-driven audio and video device. The device has 4.3-inch screen and stereo speakers and can be used by customers as their personal now TV set or moov music player. Eye can also be used to pay bills and buy movie tickets from now ticketing, a tool for home shopping, an encyclopedia from which to retrieve useful everyday information and games. PCCW eye customers can watch sports action from now Sports and other channels. Eye also carries more than 60,000 song selections from moov. A search guide of PCCW Yellow Pages will also be available through the eye. PCCW has joined forces with strategic partners such as the Hong Kong Jockey Club, PPS, CityLine and Ocean Park to roll out relevant content and applications for eye users, in phases. At launch stage, customers can use Hong Kong Jockey Club racing, football and Mark Six information, PPS payment services and now ticketing powered by CityLine. PCCW will team up with Octopus to develop a transaction enquiry application on eye, to be rolled out shortly. Eye service is available at HKD 128.
