Exalt Microwave System assists firefighters in New Mexico
It has been announced by Exalt Communications that one of its microwave backhaul systems is at the centre of the U.S. Forest Service firefighters fighting it out with blazes, close to Los Alamos, New Mexico by way of facilitating critical communication.
A fire command has been set up by the Forest Service at the Santa Ana Pueblo to supervise firefighting efforts in the area. It is located some 80 miles from Los Alamos that houses a Native American community. The Exalt system is being used to facilitate communication between the command center and the Pueblo’s data center by use of the internet in placing orders for supplies, arrange for deliveries, in addition to other critical functions.
The Exalt ExploreAir 18 GHz microwave Backhaul is robust enough for supporting 300 Mbps that runs 2.5 miles, connecting the fire command center and the Santa Ana Pueblo’s administrative building. The system was deployed by Exalt partner Access Technologies of Albuquerque, New Mexico.
