The 8888 brand that is widely accepted as India’s No.1 mobile VAS brand had begun as an SMS based VAS content portal, a first in the country. But in the rapidly burgeoning mobile market, it has expanded across 5 spaces: SMS, WAP, VOICE, on-device applications and CRBTs. Keeping with DoT’s new policy that requires the prefix 5 to be added to the short code, the 8888 brand will now be 58888.
58888 is uniquely placed within the Indian telecom VAS market space as the one of the largest content creators, aggregators and distributors that specialises in information, utilities and entertainment.
