 Magyar Telekom shows keen interest in Telekom Slovenije (Hungary)

Magyar Telekom says that is still has a keen interest in purchasing Telekom Slovenije. Magyar Telekom Chairman and Chief Executive Christopher Mattheisen said, “In case of Telekom Slovenia, a lot depends on the price. We’re still keen on Telekom Slovenia but not at any price”.
He also added that the operator, in order to expand, is looking for acquisitions in markets like Ukraine, Kosovo, and Bosnia.

   

 Batelco gives it’s subscribers, ‘Batelco World Freedom’ (Bahrain)

Batelco (Bahrain Telecommunications Company) introduces a new service for it’s subscribers, ‘Batelco World Freedom’. This new service will allow it’s subscribers to recieve free incoming calls from across the world in 21 nations. Subscribers who roam in Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Iraq, Algeria, Norway, Luxemburg, Sudan, Nigeria, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Albania, Armenia, Bosnia, Croatia, Estonia, Georgia, Moldova, Mozambique, Serbia, Slovakia and Slovenia will be able to use the service.

   

 Bosnia and Herzegovina to sell 51 percent of BH Telekom (Bosnia and Herzegovina)

The government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina is preparing the privatisation of the country’s biggest state-owned telecom operator BH Telekom. The privatisation should take place by the end of the year and the starting price for 51 percent of the shares would be EUR 1.01 billion, according to local media reports. The government is inclined to sell 51 percent to a strategic partner and then offer another 15 percent of shares on the Sarajevo Stock Exchange or other foreign markets. The government will retain 26 percent of the ownership of BH Telekom. The companies being mentioned as potential buyers include Deutsche Telekom and Mobilkom Austria.

   

 Bosnia approves Telekom Srbija’s acquisition of Telekom Srpske

Telegeographhy writes…The Bosnian government has approved Telekom Srbija’s acquisition of 65% of Bosnia’s second largest telecom company, Telekom Srpske for EUR646 million, according to online news service B92. Telekom Srbija offered the highest price for the stake in an international tender that saw Telekom Austria miss out with its bid of EUR467 million.
