T-Mobile grabs the 3G licecne in Macedonia, being awarded by country’s telecoms regulator, The Agency for Electronic Communications (AEK). T-Mobile was the only bidder for the three available 3G licences.
T-Mobile after the payment of $12.83 million fee to the regulator, the operator will be awarded the radio spectrum by 2008 end and will have to launch the network in next six months and a coverage of 50% in 12 months. The licence will be valid for 10 years.

Telecommunication Authority fixes minimum price for 3G licences (Turkey)

Turkey’s Telecommunication Authority has fixed 28th November to launch the 3G mobile licence tender. The operators willing to bid will will get the required specifications until November 24.
Bidding will commence on November 24 and will go on till November 27 afternoon and the tender will be held on November 28.
Telecommunications Authority has fixed minimum price for licence A as 285 million euros, for licence B as 250 million euros, for licence C as 214 million euros and licence D as 178 million euros.
Idea Cellular to offer new Idea on Spice licence (India)

Idea Cellular has got the approval from the Department of Communication (DoT) for scheme restructure under the telecom licences owned by Spice Communications to be transferred to a seperate legal entity, reports Telegraph, India.
This plan is deviced to move out of a dicey situation arising from it’s recent acquisition of a majority stake in Spice Communications, which holds the licences for Punjab and Karnataka circles.
CRC cancels fourth wireless licence tender in Bulgaria (Bulgaria)

Communications Regulations Commission (CRC), Bulgarian telecoms regulator, cancelled tender for the fourth wireless licence of the country, as there was only one incomplete bid.
A total of twelve companies, bought documents for participation, but on the closing date of submission only one Telco Liechtenstein submitted a bid. The documentation recieved was incomplete, and when additional paperwork wasn’t recieved within seven days, the whole process was cancelled.
Tele2 anticipates Moscow licence (Russia)

Tele2 plans to apply for a licence which would allow it to begin offering cellular services in Moscow. Tele2 claims 9.3 million subscribers on its GSM networks across Russia. It lacks a permit for the moscow region but has additional regional licences in government spectrum sales in 2007.
Up to $98million is expected to spend up on network expansions and upgrades in Russia this year.
