 TP to pay license fees of 1.6% of it’s revenues to France Telecom (Poland, France)

Polish telco TP Group will pay France Telecom licence fees of 1.6% of its revenues from business-to-business, TV and ISP operations for the rights to use the Orange brand, reports Reuters. TP already uses the Orange brand for its mobile operations and now plans to introduce the B2B, TV and ISP services over the course of the next year. The licensing contract is valid for ten years. France Telecom owns 48.6% of TP Group.

   

 MACRA awards GAIN the cellular sevices license (Malawi)

Malawi’s Communications Regulatory Authority (MACRA), has finally awarded an individual licence to Global Advanced Integrated Networks Limited (GAIN) to provide cellular telecommunications services in the country.

Gain is the third mobile service provider alongside Celtel Malawi and Telekom Networks, and it is expected that the high cellular charges will be lower with a third competitor on the market.

According to the officials, a new mobile service provider will contribute to the promotion of the development of Information Communication Technologies (ICT) in both urban and rural areas of the country.The company will promote competition in the telecommunications industry, thereby increasing the quality and affordability of the telecommunication services for the benefit of all people in the country.

 Indotel finalises telecoms licenses for 30 operators (Dominican Republic)

Indotel, the Dominican telecoms regulator, is preparing to finalise telecoms licences for 30 operators. The regulator has confirmed the completion of the process, as required by General Telecommunications Law, by providing fixed and mobile operators with official certification of their concessions. As part of the process the regulator has requested all operators provide documentary evidence to support their claim for a licence, including detailed descriptions of their networks and tax and financial information.
