 O2 introduces Opera Mini in Germany (Germany)

O2 brings mobile internet in Germany in the form of Opera Mini browser on its Internet-to-Go handsets.
Internet-to-Go will be available on several handsers with pre-installed and over-the-air version of the browser. The service fives customers the full Internet experience from the phone, allowing access to news, weather, e-commerce, and social networking.

Opera Mini will be embedded on the following products:
- Samsung U900 Soul
- Samsung U800 Soul b
- Sony Ericsson C902
- Sony Ericsson C702
- Sony Ericsson W760i

It will also be available over-the-air on 12 more.

   

 Nokia stands out Opera Mobile Web Usage (Finland)

According to Opera Software’s State of the Mobile Web report, Six out of the most popular phones models for Web browsing with Opera Mini are from Nokia, two are from Sony Ericsson, one is from BlackBerry, and one is from Samsung. In the United States, nine of the top 10 phones for Opera Mini are BlackBerries.

Jon von Tetzchner,CEO,Opera said “People want the Web on their phone regardless of the type of phone they have,”. “Our list of top phones shows both smartphones and feature phones, which is a testament to the versatility Opera Mini provides. Additionally, it proves that given the right experience, many more people will use the Web on their phone. Accessing the Web on your phone is not a luxury limited to who has the most expensive phone model,” he further added .

 Opera Software releases Opera Mini 4 beta

Norwegian web browser specialist Opera Software has released Opera Mini 4 beta codenamed Dimension. Dimension is a sneak preview of the newest version of Opera’s web browser for all mobile phones. Opera Mini 4 beta is a complete redesign of the Opera mobile web browser. The new overview mode empowers people to browse their favorite websites just like they do on their PC. Opera Mini 4 beta also features a new zoom based on the original Opera feature introduced for Nintendo Wii. Opera Mini 4 beta is available free from the Opera website.
