Portuguese mobile operator TMN has selected Opera Mini as its default web browser for its mobile internet service. The Norwegian-developed browser will be available as a free download for TMN customers and will be delivered pre-installed on some of TMN’s handsets.

Sonaecom and Oni confirm talks

Portuguese telcos Sonaecom and Oni Telecom have confirmed that they are in negotiations which could see the former acquire Oni’s residential and small business operations. Local newspaper Jornal de Negocios estimates the value of the deal at around EUR30 million. Earlier this year Sonaecom failed with an audacious bid to take over its much larger rival, Portugal Telecom.
