 Telekom Srpske’s profits rise by 50% (Bosnia and Herzegovina)

According to Predrag Culibrk, CEO, Telekom Srpske, the operator finishes its fiscal year with a hike of 50% in profits and 25% in revenues. With its privatisation in 2007, Culibrk says that the operator has grown since as the country’s mobile market has been progressing. The operator expects a continous growth, seeing the competition coming in from the upcoming privitisation of BH Telecom and HT Mostar.
Telekom’s current GSM subscriber base is nearly 1.06 million.

   

 Communication minister discusses UMTS licensing (Bosnia and Herzegovina)

Dr Bozo Ljubic, Minister of Communications and Transport for Bosnia and Herzegovina, in a discussion, met with the heads BH Telecom, HT Mostar and Telekom Srpske, to plan for the UMTS licensing.
The meeting aimed at speeding up the creation of regulations for the licensing process, following a decision by the Council of Ministers in May 2008 to offer UMTS licences.
The dates aren’t fixed yet for the resolution of the issue but the operators indicate that they are in the process of upgrading their networks.

   

 Telekom Srpske customers gain free mobile roaming in Serbia and Montenegro

Predrag Culibrk, Telekom Srpske’s newly installed director general, has announced that his company’s mobile customers will enjoy free mobile roaming in Serbia and Montenegro from 1 July 2007. Telekom Srbije, the Serbian fixed line incumbent, acquired a 65% in Telekom Srpske earlier this year.
