China Unicom’s revenues rise 5.5 percent (China)China Unicom saw its revenues go up 5.5 percent in the first three quarters of this year to CNY 74.12 billion from CNY 70.23 billion. Of total revenue, service revenue was CNY 70.19 billion, up by 4.4 percent from CNY 67.25 billion in the year-ago period. Total profit before income tax was CNY 7.96 billion, versus CNY 6.18 billion, while profit rose 22 percent to CNY 5.11 billion from CNY 4.19 billion. Basic earnings per share were CNY 0.398. EBITDA was CNY 24.58 billion and EBITDA margin was 33.2 percent.
Service revenue from China Unicom’s GSM business totaled CNY 46.64 billion. The MOU was 248.8 minutes and the ARPU was RMB46.8. Service revenue from the CDMA business was CNY 20.46 billion while the MOU stood at 265.1 minutes and the ARPU at CNY 59.2. Service revenue from long distance, data and internet businesses was CNY 3.09 billion.
