China Mobile Communications Corporation (CMCC), parent company of China Mobile and Taiwan-based Chunghwa Telecom reportedly inked an agreement on cutting mobile phone roaming fees. Following European Union’s implementation of slashing international roaming fee, this is considered to be the first move in Asia-Pacific region. Assistant manager with Chunghwa Telecom, Shi Mubiao, disclosed that the plan will be carried out at the beginning of 2009 at the earliest.
