The vivacious Denmark’s mobile market shows healthy growth despite one of the highest penetration rates in Europe. There is a strong demand for data services which is supported by price competition between the four main operators -TDC Mobile, Sonofon, Telia and Hi3G - as well as a number of resellers. 3G licences were provided by auction in 2001. Cut throat competition in the mobile market has resulted in market fusion, with TeliaSonera purchasing Orange Denmark and renouncing Orange’s 3G licence to the regulator, and TDC buying Telmore.
Operators covered for Denmark include: TDC Mobil, Sonofon (Telenor), Telia, and 3 (Hutchison)
