Dialog Telekom has launched Sri Lanka’s first WiMAX network following investment of USD10 million during the last 18 months. Commenting on the size of the network, Dialog Broadband Networks (DBN) CTO Vajira Jayasinghe revealed that ‘there will be 225 base stations in 55 main cities and 75 towns’. DBN is a wholly owned subsidiary of Dialog Telekom. Dialog was the first operator in the country to launch a GSM network (1995) and a W-CDMA network (2006).
