DNA reports first half results(Finland)Reuters writes that Finnish cellco DNA has reported higher first half operating profit and sales, thanks to decreasing competition in its domestic mobile market. DNA posted a January-June operating profit of EUR17.7 million (USD24.5 million), compared to EUR13.1 million a year ago, on sales of EUR222.5 million. The company said it had 1.1 million mobile subscribers at the end of June, an increase of 61,000 in three months, giving it a market share of 20%. ‘Our market share is growing 0.6 to 0.7 percentage points each quarter. We aim to continue this growth,’ a DNA spokesperson said.
DNA is preparing itself for a public offering, which is expected after the end of 2007. British private equity group 3i bought a 25% stake in the firm in May for EUR140 million. Its stake was diluted to 13% in June when DNA bought fixed line operations of its six regional owners in all-share deals.
