Dotcom receives MVNO licence (Chile)Chilean VoIP operator Dotcom has been awarded a 30-year mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) licence, writes BNamericas citing a statement published in the country’s official gazette. The new concession allows Dotcom to lease capacity from mobile network operators and resell the minutes under its own brand name. The licence was issued despite objections from the country’s three mobile companies: Entel PCS, Claro and Movistar Chile.
Formed in 2004, Dotcom offers VoIP and value added internet services, mainly targeting SMEs, according to the company’s website. Chilean Wi-Fi and bluetooth operator Blue Two Chile, a unit of local telco Telsur, was awarded an MVNO licence at the end of last month.
