 Etisalat to test triple-play

UAE incumbent telco etisalat is conducting pilot projects in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah to test triple-play bundles of TV, broadband internet and fixed-line telephony, a company official said. The tests involve 500 households and if successful, etisalat intends to offer converged services to around 100,000 households nationwide, Fahem Salem Al Bugham, director of technology strategy told press. Second national operator du already offers packaged services in Dubai’s free economic zones, having purchased networks from Tecom in 2006.
