One of Taiwan’s six new WiMAX licensees, Far EasTone, has announced plans to cover the south of the country with a wireless broadband network over the next two years, and will also seek a concession for the northern region. The cellco already offers Wi-Fi services in Taipei as well as HSDPA wireless broadband over its GSM network, and also says it is considering offering WiMAX in northern Taiwan through a partnership with one of the other regional licence winners.
