Mobile-Ent writes…Gameloft says it will launch 20 titles with 3D graphics this year and will eventually release all of its mobile games in the format.
Gameloft has already released eight titles in 3D, including Massive Snowboarding, Asphalt: Urban GT2, Midnight Pool, Midnight Bowling, Vijay Singh Pro Golf, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Jungle Storm, 2006 Real Football and Brothers in Arms: Earned in Blood.

The first of these games are available in South Korea, Japan, the US and Europe, initially developed in Java and adapted for Symbian, Brew, WIPI and Windows Mobile.

Gameloft president Michel Guillemot said: “The evolution towards advanced 3D games has been gaining momentum over the last couple of years and Gameloft has brought it to the forefront today. Thanks to improved networks and terminals, as well as support from our carrier partners, 2007 is the year that Gameloft will mass market high-definition 3D games around the globe.

Gameloft is not abandoning good old 2D games though, saying its will continue to make its games accessible for 800 different handsets, served by 170 carriers in 75 countries.
