 Google revenues up 51%, posts USD 1.21 bln net profit in Q4

Google’s fourth-quarter revenues increased 51 percent to USD 4.83 billion compared to USD 3.21 billion in the year-earlier quarter. Google-owned sites generated revenues of USD 3.12 billion or 65 percent of total revenues, up 58 percent from revenues of USD 1.98 billion. Google’s partner sites through AdSense programmes generated revenues of USD 1.64 billion or 34 percent of total revenues, up 37 percent from USD 1.20 billion. Revenues from outside the United States totalled USD 2.32 billion, representing 48 percent of total revenues compared to 44 percent previously. Revenues from the United Kingdom totalled USD 692 million, representing 14 percent of revenue, compared to 15 percent in the prior year. Traffic acquisition costs increased to USD 1.44 billion. Net profit was USD 1.21 billion. Cash, cash equivalents and marketable securities were USD 14.2 billion.
