China’s Huawei Technologies has launched three 3G handsets including the U550, a HSDPA mobile phone, at CommunicAsia in Singapore. With a slim design, the U550 flip-phone supports HSDPA 3.6 Mbps, UMTS, EDGE and GSM networks. It has buttons that allows users to listen to music in many different file formats without flipping open the mobile and it can be used as a high-speed modem by being plugged into a PC or laptop. Huawei has also launched the U121, a UMTS handset, and the U120, which is an entry-level music handset. With a steel mirror surface, the U121 has a music listening function and supports bluetooth. In addition to the handsets, Huawei has launched two 3G wireless devices, the E960 and the E870. The E960 is an HSDPA wireless gateway that can also be used as a mobile USB modem.
