Internet Initiative Japan and Japanese operator NTT DoCoMo have signed a preliminary agreement under which IIJ will become the MVNO using DoCoMo’s 3G Foma network. As the first step, IIJ plans to offer corporate customers an internet connection service that supports HSDPA 3.6 Mbps mobile data communications starting in January 2008. IIJ also plans to provide outsourcing services for mobile data communications, including mobile data-communications terminals, network and data-centre management and system maintenance. Details of actual operations are currently under discussion.
