iPhone available June 29th in the US

The wait is almost over. Apple announced tonight, through three clever TV Ads, the launch date of its much anticipated product in years, exclusively through AT&T, the largest communications provider in the US.

AT&T begun the final phase of an estimated $1 billion rebranding campaign, changing the name of its retail chain from Cingular to AT&T.

Apple and AT&T are both preparing to kick off Q3 with a huge buzz.  AT&T has received over one million inquiries about the iPhone. Showtime starts on June 29th in Apple and AT&T stores and on their web sites. It’ll be interesting to see how many mobile subscribers jump ship from Verizon, Sprint and T-Mobile to get their hands on the iPhone through a two year contract with AT&T.  It appears that the iPhone will only be available through AT&T for the first five years.
