Mobile-Ent writes…Sony Ericsson is to take mobile music to the masses, with a new entry-level Walkman phone aimed squarely at the pre-paid market.
The W200 comes bundled with a 128MB Memory Stick Micro, enough for about 37 tracks, though a 1GB upgrade can be purchased separately. Music is transfered to the phone using SE’s Disc2Phone software.

SE has not yet stated the exact retail price of the W200, though presumably it will be lower than the £89.95 RRP for the W300i.

Steve Walker, head of product marketing at Sony Ericsson, said: “The W200 is an affordable music phone that compliments your existing MP3 player. It’s not everyday that you want to carry lots of devices with you and with the W200 you have enough music storage for your current playlist. And if you tire of these, the FM Radio allows you to quickly tune-in to your favourite drive-time show.”

The company has also launched its Bluetooth-enabled Music Receiver MBR-100, which enables users to stream music on their phone for playback through a hi-fi or car stereo.
