KPN posts 10,000 subscribers MobileTV subscribers since it’s launch in June’08 (Netherlands)KPN has reported 10,000 subscribers to its MobileTV service, the platform which was rolled out this June. From 15th September, KPN will also provide N96, third handset.
Initially, KPN’s offer consisted of a free two-year subscription to new MobielTV customers plus a free handset when subscribing to a €27.50 monthly calling package. The platform has 10 basic channels – Nederland 1, Nederland 3, RTL4, RTL24, SBS6, Jetix/Veronica, MTV Music, Discovery Channel, Xite and Nick Toons – and the basic subscription costs €9.95 a month.
RTL24 is a dedicated mobile channel, and KPN also offers two premium channels, one adult channel and two live football channels from Eredivisie Live. Each channel costs an additional €5 per month.
According to Baptiest Coopmans, a member of KPN’s Board, the take-up of premium channels is “encouraging”.
