Kuwait’s Noor Financial Investment is, reportedly, eyeing the bid for mobile phone licences in Lebanon and Qatar.
‘We are bidding for a Lebanon licence, and jointly bidding for another licence in Qatar with another operator,’ in addition to an Omani licence and one in Africa, said Noor Financial Investment’s deputy chairman Nasser Al Merri.
Lebanon has one million mobile-phone users who contribute $750 million to government’s annual net revenue. Now, the country wants to auction off its two government-owned mobile phone companies after six years of delay, to bring down debt.
