Mobile search solutions developer InfoSpace is reportedly the target of a $1.1 billion buyout proposal by Spanish mobile content group LaNetro Zed. InfoSpace shares skyrocketed after Spanish newspaper Negocio first published the rumors, rising $2.73 (13.26 percent) to $23.32 on Tuesday. According to Negocio, Merrill Lynch & Co. and Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc. are advising LaNetro Zed, which currently operates in 16 countries, including the U.S. and China-earlier this year, Zed assumed control of U.K. rival MonsterMob after shareholders accepted its £34 million bid.
