The Sri Lankan fixed wireless operator Lanka Bell has launched its WiMAX wireless broadband network for home and business users. The firm is offering packages with download speeds of up to 10MBps. ‘The launch of Bell Broadband represents an important milestone in the evolution of Lanka Bell as a total solutions provider to enterprise and residential users,’ Prasad Samarasinghe managing director of Lanka Bell said in a statement. Lanka Bell was established in 1997 and now serves almost a million subscribers with fixed wireless and dial-up internet services.
