Broadcasters in North America and Western Europe will spend an estimated USD 8.7 billion on technology by 2012, up from USD 6 billion at end-2006, equal to a CAGR of 6.4 percent, according to a new study from Datamonitor. The report evaluates the broadcast value chain from 2006 to 2012. The broadcast value chain is undergoing a major transformation as digital workflows, high-definition (HD) and traditional IT infrastructure revolutionise the TV sector.
