New Zealand’s third cellular network, NZ Communications has delayed it’s services. The services, which were hoped to begin in October 2008 have fallen behind with it’s network roll out with just 50 base stations built out of the planned 450. The firm has signed a nationwide roaming deal with Vodafone New Zealand but has so far been unable to forge co-location agreements which would allow it to share cell towers with Vodafone and Telecom Mobile. New legislation which will speed up co-location is expected to be introduced in mid-November.
