Totaltele writes…Nokia Siemens Networks, the joint venture between Finland’s Nokia Corp.(NOK) and Siemens AG (SI), Wednesday said it has won a contract from China Mobile Group Beijing Ltd. to provide its Push-to-Talk over Cellular, or PoC solution.

Under this agreement Nokia Siemens Networks will provide China Mobile with a turnkey solution and support it in launching a commercial PoC service that will meet the needs of the big 2008 Beijing event.

The equipment delivery started in May, and Nokia Siemens Networks will provide a turnkey solution including equipment deployment, implementation, care and core planning.

Under this contract, Nokia Siemens Networks will provide a PoC server, Presence server, List Management server, internet protocol backbone and management systems.

The Nokia Siemens Networks PoC solution allows China Mobile to offer optimized worksite communications between mobile phones and a dispatcher client running on a personal computer.

In addition to Nokia devices, all Open Mobile Alliance PoC standard compliant phones from any vendor are supported.

“We have been carrying out testing and trials of PoC services over the past few years for major exhibitions and sporting events with satisfying results. We are looking forward to launching commercial PoC service and bringing an exciting new experience to users,” said the head of the Data Business Center of China Mobile Group Beijing Co., Ltd.
