Nokia wins ITC ruling in Qualcomm suit (USA)A US International Trade Commission judge has issued an initial determination in favour of Nokia in the action brought by Qualcomm against Nokia alleging patent infringement. The judge found no infringement or violation by Nokia of the three asserted Qualcomm patents. In addition, it was determined that patent ‘473 was found to be invalid. The judge’s initial determination will now be forwarded to the full commission for review. The commission is scheduled to make its final determination by 14 April 2008. Qualcomm filed the complaint in June 2006, alleging that Nokia mobile phones imported in the US infringed certain Qualcomm patents covering power control technologies. Qualcomm is seeking an import ban on the phones.
