NTT East, West apply for lower interconnection charges (Japan)Nippon Telegraph and Telephone East (NTT East) applied to the minister of internal affairs and communications for authorisation to change interconnection charges. The interconnection charges apply to optical subscriber lines and the changes would take effect at the beginning the fiscal year ending 31 March 2009. NTT East currently charges JPY 5,074 and wants to change this to JPY 4,713 per month. Furthermore, branch subscriber line and optical main subscriber line charges will be changed as well. NTT West has applied for a similar authorisation asking to change its charges to JPY 5,048 from JPY 5,074 per month.
