O2 Ireland, Alcatel complete move to next generation convergent charging platformFrench equipment vendor Alcatel says it has completed the deployment of a next generation services platform and converged charging suite for O2 Ireland, and successfully migrated its 1.6 million strong user base from the old Intelligent Network system. Alcatel claims its Alcatel 8610 Instant Convergent Charging Suite solution allows for real time call control and charging for O2’s pre-pay services, as well as providing the cellco with a fully convergent-ready rating and charging capability, ready for the migration to converged pre-pay, post-pay, voice, data and multimedia services in the future.
