One, the Austrian mobile operator, will be renamed to Orange Austria from 22 September 2008.
One had launched an announcement campaign for the name change a few days back, but hadn’t revealed the final name change date.
With coming of the name change, One will also become the the fifth largest mobile operator in the world.
The 2 million One subscribers will be informed about the change in the name and also the new tariffs and services. The changes will be made on tariffs and conditions and the name in their handsets from One to Orange. All the existing One World stores will be renamed Orange shops.
One has invested nearly EUR 20 million for the name change and it came into being due to the acquisition of One by Orange and venture capitalist Mid Europa Partners (MEP) during 2007.
