Palm has unveiled its latest smartphone for the European market, the Treo 500v, to be launched exclusively with Vodafone from October. Running on Windows Mobile 6, the 3G handset has a full keyboard, large screen, new personal information management software, 2 megapixel camera and full messaging services covering SMS, MMS, instant messaging and push e-mail. It also highlights the Vodafone live! range of internet services, including access to Google Maps and eBay and a range of information services. The handset has 150MB of internal memory as well as a microSD card slot. The phone will come in either glacier white or charcoal grey. It will initially be available to Vodafone customers in Germany, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, the UK and Vodacom customers in South Africa.
