 Poppy Appeal goes mobile

The Royal British Legion has introduced poppy screen downloads for mobile phones to tie in with this year’s annual Poppy Appeal. You can select one of three of their Poppy Appeal images by texting the word POPPY to 85099 (which also automatically channels £1.50 of your cash to the charity’s Appeal).

While you may have to splash more of your hard-earned for a plastic poppy, the text option gives you a choice of two animated wallpapers and a static poppy pic with the word ‘Remember’ and the time and date of the two minute’s silence on 11 November. You also get a text alert the day before to remind you.

Money donated to the Poppy Appeal goes to Poppy Support which provides a range of welfare services to serving and ex-service people and their families.
