Portugal Telecom revenues grow, net profit up to EUR 429 mln(Portugal)Portugal Telecom saw its revenue grow by 5.4 percent year-on-year to EUR 2.96 billion for the the first half of this year, driven by mobile operations in Brazil (Vivo) and Portugal (TMN). EBITDA increased by 15.2 percent year-on-year to EUR 1.15 billion, driven by all business segments. Portugal Telecom’s net profit for the first half of this year increased 6.9 percent to EUR 429 million. The number of fixed-line customers decreased by 12 percent to 3.15 million, while the number of ADSL customers grew by 12.5 percent year-on-year to 715,000 on 30 June. The number of mobile customers in Portugal increased by 100,000 to 5.814 million at the end of the second quarter of this year and the Brazilian mobile customer base grew by 6 percent to 30.24 million.
