Korea Communications Commission (KCC) has postponed its decision on whether to force the top mobile carrier, SK Telecom, to share the 800MHz spectrum with its two rivals—KTF and LG Telecom, Media reports. However, 5 members of the regulator’s standing committee has decided to discuss the so-called spectrum -roaming plan late this year when it drafts a comprehensive plan for spectrum reallocations. According to industry sources, SK Telecom is likely to retain its exclusive right to the so-called “golden spectrum” until 2011 as planned because a majority of the members of the standing committee favoured a plan to let mobile operators resolve the issue.
