Singapore Telecom (SingTel) has launched its ‘Broadband on Mobile’ service based on HSDPA tecnhnology. This offers true broadband speed sof up to 2.6 Mbps. Customers require an HSDPA-enabled device such as PDA, mobile phone or laptop to access the service. Its ecisting mobile networks are fully integrated and backward compatible, including the new Wi-Fi network under deployment. The new HSDPA mobile broadband service is available to both private and business customers of SingTel. HSDPA coverage is currently limited to the Orchard Road shopping belt, and will be expanded island-wide before end-2007. Customers can access Broadband on Mobile on any SingTel 3G price plan using a 3G SIM card. Contract mobile customers are being offered free mobile broadband access until end-February 2007.
