T-Mobile to launch HTC Pyramid ‘superphone’ in May

HTC’s first dual-core Android phone, the ‘Pyramid’ will be heading to T-Mobile in May.

The ‘superphone’ features a dual-core 1.2 GHz Snapdragon processor, a 4.3 inch qHD display, and 4G/HSPA+ support.

HTC and T-Mobile have a long-standing relationship with Android devices, dating back to the launch of the first Android phone, the T-Mobile G1.

T-Mobile’s HSPA+ network supports up to 14 Mbps downloads and 5.6 Mbps uploads.

In terms of codecs, the phone will support MPEG-4, MPEG-2, H.264, H.263, VC-1, DivX, WMV-9, Sorenson Spark, VP6, AAC+, eAAC+, AMR, FR, EFR, HR, WB-AMR, G.729a, G.711 and AAC stereo encode.

Nokia to introduce Nokia C3 Touch & Type in India

Nokia is planning to launch its second Touch and Type mobile and announced it at the second day of Nokia World 2010 Event in London.

The Nokia C3 Touch and Type comes with a traditional keypad plus a touchscreen. The body is made up of 100% stainless steel case and has a 5 megapixel camera with flash on board.

Nokia C3 Touch and Type is a Quad-band ready phone and supports 3G/HSPA and Wi-Fi internet connectivity. The phone memory can be expanded up to 32 GB with the microSD memory cards. It also has a stereo FM Radio, a 3.5mm audio socket, Nokia messaging 3.0, instant messaging and the Communities client offering Facebook and Twitter access. It also includes a web browser and music player which supports MP3, AAC, eAAC, eAAC+, WMA.

The new phone comes in three different colors, silver, warm grey and gold. The price of the phone in India is expected at around US$187.62, excluding taxes or subsidies.
