Vodafone contract abrogation case adjourned by Ghana SC

www.WirelessFederation.com/news: The case in which some prominent political figures have seeked the abrogation of the sale of 70 percent shares in Ghana Telecom to Vodafone has been adjourned by the Supreme Court. Members of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), including, Bright Akwetey and Professor Agyeman Badu Akosa form the group wanting the sale reversed citing it to be of no interest to Ghanaians.

The Chief Justice Georgina Wood, who chaired the Supreme Court panel expressed dissatisfaction with High Court for its failure to comply with the rules regulating the transfer of constitutional matters to the Supreme Court.

As the lawyers for the plaintiff raised a number of constitutional issues relating to the sale of Ghana Telecom to Vodafone, the case was moved to Supreme Court.
