Vodafone Espana sets off femtocell pilot scheme (Spain)

Vodafone Espana (Spain’s Telco) and Huawei Technologies together to offer a limited selection of its business customers the chance to join a pilot scheme of its new Access Gateway product. A 3G technology femtocells based service is designed to improve broadband coverage for voice and data within buildings. This move is the resultants of the announcement made by Vodafone Espana in Feb ’08 that it had begin testing femtocell technology, and the pilot scheme comes as a result of the cellco successfully completing its trials.
