Angola telecom contracts DeTeCon to restructure

www.WirelessFederation.com/news: Angola Telecom has awarded a contract to German-based ICT consultancy DeTeCon International to restructure the state-owned telco’s operations. DeTeCon is a subsidiary of T-Systems International which is a part of the Deutsche Telekom group.

According to the company, DeTeCon will majorly intervene in the context of more effective development of Angolan telecommunications, including quality of service, tariffs, revenue and investments, traffic, number of subscribers, organization, training and human resources.

TVCabo secures EUR 15 mln loan from European Investment Bank (Angola)

TVCabo in Angola has received a EUR 15 million loan from The European Investment Bank. The loan will be used to support the development of the information and communication technologies sector. The loan will finance the construction of a broadband and bi-directional digital network in and around Angola’s capital, Luanda. The project is expected to benefit the consumer and corporate markets and will provide high-speed internet, radio and TV broadcasting. The project will eventually allow for the development of ICT services such as interactive TV, video-conferencing and telemetry. TVCabo was established in 2002 and is owned by a partnership between national telecommunication operator Angola Telecom and the Portuguese Visabeira Group.
