www.WirelessFederation.com/news: EVN Telecom and Hanoi Telecom, the Vietnamese mobile operators have signed a VND6 trillion (US$338 million) strategic agreement on 3G technology. Under the agreement, the two operators will make investments in building 5,000 base transceiver stations (BTS) to offer 3G technology to subscribers. The service will cover 50% of the residential areas.
The telcos reportedly said that they’ll offer 3G services nine months after it they receive the licence.
