Digicel to launch Blackberry Bold 9780 smartphone
Digicel will be launching the BlackBerry Bold 9780 in all of its 26 markets across the Caribbean and Central America by March 2011.
The BlackBerry Bold 9780 is the first BlackBerry Bold smartphone to come with the new BlackBerry 6 operating system, which retains the familiar and trusted features that distinguish the BlackBerry brand while delivering a fresh, approachable and engaging experience that’s powerful and easy to use.
According to Rick Costanzo, Managing Director, Latin America, Research In Motion, building on the success of the BlackBerry Bold series of smartphones, they are now pleased to work with Digicel to bring the BlackBerry Bold 9780 smartphone featuring the new BlackBerry 6 operating system to their customers in Jamaica.

BlackBerry Bold 9780 available with Vodafone and Optus (Australia)
Vodafone and Optus are selling the BlackBerry Bold 9780 in Australia selling the mobile phone on plans starting at $59 per month.
Vodafone and Optus are expected to carry the BlackBerry Bold 9780 mobile phone, but the telcos are yet to announce final pricing and availability of the handset.
Research In Motion’s BlackBerry Bold 9780 is the first BlackBerry Bold smartphone to come with the new BlackBerry 6 operating system, promising new versions of the popular BlackBerry Messenger software among other tweaks and refinements to the BlackBerry phone user interface.

Vodafone Qatar launches new BlackBerry smartphone
Vodafone Qatar has launched the new BlackBerry Bold 9780 smartphone on its network. The smartphone features a premium design with an easy-to-use keyboard and optical track-pad.
The BlackBerry Bold 9780 is equipped with advanced communications and multimedia features, and is also the first Bold smartphone to come with the new BlackBerry 6 operating system.
The handset supports 3G networks around the world, includes Wi-Fi with support for carrier supported Wi-Fi calling (UMA where available) and GPS for location-based applications and geo-tagging. It comes with a 5 mega-pixel camera, and a 512MB flash memory, with the option of expandable memory card slot up to 32GB.
According to company’s Consumer Business Unit director Daniel Horan, Vodafone is pleased to launch the innovative BlackBerry Bold 9780. Vodafone brings new handset to the collection (UK)
Vodafone UK has announced the new handsets to its range. It will be launching BlackBerry Bold 9780, Motorola Defy, Samsung Galaxy Europa and Nokia C3.
According to the company, with Christmas fast approaching, Vodafone UK has added a variety of new handsets to its range, giving customers a great choice of devices free from as little as US$16.14 per month on the UK’s best network. The company recently launched HTC Desire HD, Nokia N8, HTC 7 Trophy, BlackBerry Torch and a host of other fantastic handsets in Vodafone’s range, all of which are available to buy now.
The first phone in the series is the BlackBerry Bold 9780. The handset is packed with the latest OS- BlackBerry 6 and is available for US$56.52 with 24 month contract, including 900 minutes, unlimited texts and 500MB of mobile data.
The company has also launched two new Android handsets. Motorola’s rugged Defy is available on a US$40.37 with 24 month contract including 300 minutes, unlimited texts and 500MB of mobile data.
Samsung’s Galaxy Europa is a budget Android offering, which is available at 32.29 with 24 month contract including 100 minutes, 500 texts and 250MB of mobile data.
And the list end at Nokia C3 which is available at US$16.14 with 24 month contract, including 100 minutes and 500 texts.
RIM unveils New BlackBerry Smartphone
Research In Motion (RIM) has revealed its latest smartphone – the BlackBerry Bold 9780 – which is also the first BlackBerry Bold smartphone to come with the new BlackBerry 6 operating system.
According to Carlo Chiarello, Vice President, Product Management at Research In Motion, the company is very excited to introduce the BlackBerry Bold 9780 featuring the new BlackBerry 6 operating system. This new model builds on the highly refined mobile experience that BlackBerry Bold users already know and love and delivers a wide range of enhancements including a rich new user interface, a fast and powerful WebKit-based browser, broadly improved communications and multimedia capabilities, an incredibly useful Universal Search feature and a high quality 5MP camera.
The handset is equipped with a 5 MP camera with a continuous auto focus, scene modes, image stabilization, flash and video recording. It also includes 512 MB Flash memory and an expandable memory card slot that supports up to 32 GB of additional storage, expanded messaging capabilities, access to social networking and RSS feeds, and integrated access to BBM (BlackBerry Messenger), Facebook, Twitter, MySpace and various instant messaging applications along with 3G and Wi-Fi.
