Ukraine ended July with 55.2 million active SIM cards, and penetration rose to 119.9% from 119.1% at the end of June.
VimpelCom added 122,000, taking the total base to 2.06 million subscribers. Astelit added 140,00 new subscribers.

The maximum net additions were reported in West and Central China. By the end of HQ’09, mobile phone penetration rate was 43.2% in central China and 43.8% in west China, both lower than the average level across the whole country.
Mobile phone penetration rate in east China reached 72%, higher than the country’s average level. However, newly-added mobile phone users in east China declined sharply, compared with the number in the same period of the previous year.

The mobile penetration in the country grew to 134.1%, up from 132.8% in April.There were 195 and 174 SIM cards in use per 100 inhabitants in Moscow and St. Petersburg, respectively, at end-May.
It is further reported that the subscriber base of Ukraine dropped to 55.1 million, down by 0.1 million from April. Penetration decreased by 0.1% versus the previous month, to 119.5% at end-May.

The market share of Pannon was reportedly almost flat in comparison to 34.86% in April, while Vodafone’s market share dropped from 21.17% to 21.07%.
T-Mobile market share also plunged in May to 44.07 per cent, from 44.97% in April. Active subscription experiences drop from 44.97% (April) to 44.07% in May. Mobile penetration dropped from 119.6 in April to 118.9% at end-May.

Whereas T-Mobile’s market share plunged to 43.97% from 44.15% in March. The active subscriber base dropped to 10.69 million, from 10.80 million in March. Mobile penetration fell from 120.8% in March to 119.6% at end-April.
