The combination of the Unanimis premium advertising network with Orange’s mobile and internet assets will enable advertisers, buyers and media agencies to reach over 71.5% of the UK online population and over 66% of the online population across the UK, France, Spain and Poland.
Unanimis will reportedly continue working under it’s brand name and will be a part of the Orange Group Advertising Network. The acquisition will boost Orange’s presence in two of Europe’s three main digital advertising markets – France and the UK.
www.WirelessFederation.com/news: Bougyues Telecom, the French telco, is reportedly mulling to file a complaint to the European Commission about the way the French government plans to sell a fourth 3G mobile phone license, Chief Executive Martin Bouygues said.
Bougyues Telecom has paid EUR619 million for its license in 2002 while the government at present has set the fee at EUR240 million for the fourth third-generation, or 3G, license, which is anticipated to be awarded to Iliad SA’s free mobile phone division.
“We would consider it normal that we should receive a repayment,” if the sale goes through on this basis, Bouygues told a press conference.

Bolloré Telecom is keen to profit from its 20 regional WiMAX licences and aligning itself to the mobile operators could be a way for it to do that.
The WiMax licence holder, anticipates to take advantage of the mobile operators’ networks which are overloaded by the explosion of mobile internet in the country.
Bolloré Telecom could either seek to form a joint venture with one of the mobile operators, which would see Bolloré contribute its WiMAX licences in return for access to the operator’s customer base. Alternatively, Bolloré could broker a deal that would see it hand over its frequencies to one of the operators.

SFR has priced the handset at EUR 99 with an Illimythics plan, including rebate, compared to Bouygues’s starting price of EUR 89. The handset will be available at EUR 409 as a standalone product. The Samsung Galaxy features a 3.5-inch AMOLED touch screen, 5 Megapixel camera, Wi-Fi, GPS, Google applications, media player, and 8 GB of memory, expandable to 40 GB. It uses the Android version 1.5 (Cupcake).

The funding will be used for research on the enhanced version of LTE, LTE Advanced. In countries like Finland, Germany, Norway, Spain, Sweden and the UK LTE trials are going on. The commercial launch of services will be made in Sweden and Norway in H1′10. In September 2009, the EC will roll out negotiations on the details with project consortia, including the flagship Artist4G that builds on the achievements of the Winner projects and unites 4G industry and researchers from Finland, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Spain, Sweden and the UK. The new projects are scheduled for launch in January 2010.

www.WirelessFederation.com/news: The French mobile operators have added 678,600 new subscribers in Q2′09 to end June with 58.91 million subscribers, reports the French telecom regulator Arcep. While the overall mobile market grew by 1.2% in Q2, the postpaid subscriber base grew by 1.8% to 40.51 million and prepaid subscribers fell by 0.3% to 18.4 million. MVNOs, at the end of June, had a 5.3% market share by subscribers, up from 5.17% at the end of March and 4.67% at the end of June 2008. During the Q2, SMS traffic grew by 7.2% to 14.66 billion messages, or 85.9 per month per active subscriber, compared to 13.68 billion or 80.6 monthly messages per customer in Q1.
www.WirelessFederation.com/news: The French government has launched tender for the 4th 3G mobile licence in the country, as it publishes the procedure’s details in the Official Journal on 01 August. The candidates who wish to bid for the licence can do so until 29 September by submitting their proposals. The contenders reportedly are ISP Free, Numericable and MVNO Virgin Mobile France (joint bid).
Arcep, the French regulator, has until the end of May 2010 to decide on proposals based on nine criteria, including the credibility of the business plan, coverage commitments and access to the network by MVNOs.
