www.WirelessFederation.com/news: Reliance Communication, India’s second largest mobile operator, is restructuring its pricing model as it now plans to offer Value Added Services (VAS) such as caller tunes, news alerts and Internet surfing for a price of Re1 a day, rather than for a monthly subscription. This pricing model is known as Sachet Pricing.
We are rolling out this sachet pricing this month. We have already tested the sachet pricing prospects with gaming,†said Krishna Durbha, business and marketing head, VAS.
With this new move of providing pricing flexibility to the subscribers, RCom hopes to reach a larger audience for its VAS offerings.
Krishna Durbha further said that the company expects that in next three years 15-20% of its revenue to come from VAS and data services.
