BSNL’s Re1 STD will be available to all fixed lines

NEW DELHI: Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd will announce a new monthly rental plan today, which will allow fixed line subscribers to call anywhere in the country for just Re1.

The One India plan that is currently available for a monthly rental of Rs225 will be available to all users for just Rs180 a month. The local calling rates will remain at Re1 for three minutes. At present, the minimum monthly rental of Rs180 is only available under the non-One India plan in which the peak STD tariff is Rs2.40 a minute for fixed line users.

The number of free calls will also be increased from the current 25 per month to 50. But there are no goodies in store for BSNL mobile customers.
